2. Who Does What!
The Bride and Groom should delegate jobs to other members of the family when planning their wedding - here is a list of who can be asked to help and which jobs they can be asked to do!
Brides’s Mother:
- order wedding cake
- order invitations and other stationery
- send out invitations
- hire photographer
- book florist for church and reception, if required
- arrange display of presents
- order cake boxes, and favours for guests
- hire cars/transport
- arrange announcement for local paper
- arrange entertainment for evening reception
Bride:
- choose bridesmaids
- select dresses for self and bridesmaids
- organise hairdresser for wedding day
- wedding present list
- help mother with her jobs!
Bridegroom:
- arrange the ceremony
- select best man
- hire morning dress if required
- order flowers for bride, bridesmaids, and mother
- arrange travel for honeymoon
- arrange transport to and from church
- prepare speech - response to the Bride & Groom toast
- prepare toast to "The Bridesmaids"
- choose gifts for the Bridesmaids
Best Man:
- take charge of the rings
- organise guests transport from church to reception
- prepare response to "The Bridesmaids" toast
- return Groom's and own morning dress after wedding
Bride's Father:
- check transport arrangements
- order morning dress, if required
- prepare speech for reception
Bridesmaids:
- choose dresses with bride's help
- chief bridesmaid takes charge of Bride's bouquet during ceremony
